Vanden is not offering Driver’s Education at this time. Here is a free option you might consider. Coastline Academy, a free online Drivers Education program, is available to all students. Here is the link for this program. https://courses.coastlineacademy.com/
Hi! I am Tassia Brittain and I am starting a human rights club at Vanden called Amnesty International. In the club, you will have a chance to work with others to learn about global and local human rights issues AND speak up about what you care about. Amnesty is a platform for you to learn about what is going on in the world, talk about it with others, and work to make a change, no matter how big or small. If you are interested in joining and making a difference, please let us know in this survey!! Thanks!

Reminder to seniors/early grads: An important message from Josten’s was emailed to you through Aeries communication. If you have not ordered, the deadline to order your cap and gown and other graduation items is coming up very soon. Please order before February 26th. It was difficult to get items produced and shipped last year due to Covid-19. Make sure to order now because items may not be available after the deadline. LEADERSHIP/ASB: If you think you will be interested in Leadership make sure you check that box when you register. We will be looking for you for campaigning and interviewed positions near the end of March. BUT keep your eyes open for more information during the 4th quarter.

Reminder: Attention Vikings! Yes, there will be a yearbook this year and they are currently on sale for $80 until January 29! On January 30, the price goes up to $90! Our class has won the Program of Excellence award 2 years in a row for our dedication to the yearbook and we are aiming for a third year, so you can bet that we are giving our all in creating another amazing book! The Vanden High School Library and Technology Center is offering tutoring for students in most subject areas through Tutor.com and peer tutoring. This service is FREE. If you would like to learn more about the tutoring services we offer, please email Mrs. Korynta at akorynta@travisusd.org.

Students interested in looking for a job in the near future. The Work-Ready Certification Program (through S.C.O.E.) will be from February 22- March 11 from 3:00-4:30 pm. The FREE, three-week program will be available to Vanden students. The program will be a combination of self-paced and in-person live zoom meetings and is great for any students that are interested in applying for colleges or jobs.
