    Happy Sunday Foxboro Families,

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Fall Break and Thanksgiving!

Before the break, we celebrated Mrs. Shelton, Foxboro’s 2023 Educator of the Year. Mrs. Shelton is a 3rd Grade teacher at Foxboro. She is committed to supporting the whole child and goes above and beyond each day to make learning engaging, rigorous, and fun for all of her students. As a result, our Foxes grow academically, socially and emotionally. We thank Mrs. Shelton for her leadership, positive contributions to our school family, and choosing Foxboro to call her home!

We also celebrated our Fabulous Foxes who went above and beyond to demonstrate our school wide expectations of Respect, Responsibility, Safety and Kindness! Every day is a great day to be a Fox!

    12 Days to Winter Break

Let the holiday fun continue! Starting Wednesday, December 7th, and each day for the 12 days leading up to the Winter Break, we will celebrate and have some fun together! Every day has a new theme, including a spirit day, holiday song, and random act of kindness. Show your enthusiasm and spirit by posting pictures each day to our Foxboro Elementary PTA (Vacaville) Facebook page.

    Award Assemblies this Week

Families are invited to join us for our grade level assemblies! Assemblies will be held on the basketball courts. For those students receiving an achievement, growth or character award, you should have been contacted by your classroom teacher. A separate message was sent to those families with a student/students receiving reading degrees.

    Animals on Campus

Travis USD regulations prohibit, among other animals, dogs being walked on school campuses. This includes walking dogs on campus when dropping off students, picking up students, or during Jumpstart PE. Please do not bring any breed or size of dog onto our school campus, especially when students are present. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy and remaining on the city sidewalks surrounding our school campus with your dogs or any other animal.

Please notify our school office if your student is missing school for any reason. You are welcome to email our attendance clerk, Mrs. Koyle at  or give us a call during our office hours, which is 7:30-4:00 p.m. daily.

    Birthday/Holiday Celebrations

As a reminder, please do not send birthday/holiday treats or food items to school. “Goodie bags” with non-food items are allowed. Also, balloons or flowers are not allowed in classrooms.

    Bringing Lunch for Your Student

Parents, you are welcome to bring lunch for your student. We are asking parents to not bring lunch for other students. For the safety of our students and staff, Foxboro Elementary does not accept any deliveries, including deliveries of food (such as DoorDash), flowers, balloons, etc.

    Care Solace

Travis Unified School District is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and families. We are proud to announce our partnership with CareSolace to support our ongoing commitment. If you or a family member are looking for help with mental health or substance use, Care Solace will quickly connect you to community providers matched to your needs. Call 888-515-0595 at any time or search on your own at

More information is available on the district website at

    Cell Phones on Campus

Just a reminder that students are expected to have their cell phones turned off and in their backpacks while on campus. If students need to call home, they can call from the phone in the office. Thank you for your support!

    COVID-19 Test Kits

Prior to our Thanksgiving Break, students and staff will be provided with an at-home COVID-19 test. Please follow the instructions included with the test. These tests are optional and no one is required to take a test. If you choose to administer the at-home COVID-19 test and the result is positive, the protocol is to stay at home. Please refer to our District protocol if you have any questions.

    Daily Health Checks

We are depending on you to screen your children for symptoms of COVID-19 every day before sending them to school.  People with these symptoms may possibly have COVID-19, and must stay home.  If symptoms start while your child is at school, we will call you to pick your child up right away.

    Possible symptoms include:

    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea

We are depending on our whole school community to work together to keep the virus out of our schools.  A morning health check is a critical piece of that effort. Please contact our school office if your child has been in contact with a COVID positive person (close contact situation).  If your student has any known allergies, such as seasonal allergies, or other health concerns such as asthma, please update this information in your parent portal or contact our Mrs. Staci Cope, our Health Specialist in the Front Office.

A free breakfast will be available for all students starting at 7:45 a.m. in the courtyard outside our Multipurpose room. If your student is NOT eating breakfast, you may drop your student(s) off starting at 8:00 a.m.

The Foxboro parking lot is closed to vehicle traffic from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The driveway will be coned off, accessible only to those with a handicap placard and school buses. Dropping off and picking up your students in a timely manner is important and we appreciate your efforts!

Thank you for prioritizing the safety of our school family each day when you drop off and pick up your children. Please be mindful not to park in no parking zones, block neighborhood driveways, double or triple park along any of the streets surrounding Foxboro, or make illegal u-turns after dropping your student off.  As a reminder, the loading and unloading zone near the basketball courts are for loading and unloading students at the beginning of school each day. Cars should not be stopped or parked in this area.

Also, thank you for being good role models for each of our Foxes by using the crosswalks to cross streets when coming to and from the Foxboro campus. The Vacaville Police Department prioritizes the safety of our families and will regularly be patrolling and ticketing the area before and after school.

As a result, Foxboro has many alternate areas for student drop off and pick up. These routes help to ease the congestion at the front of the school during peak traffic times.

    Some suggestions include:

    • Park your car on an unmarked curb on the streets surrounding the campus and walk your children onto the school grounds using a crosswalk.
    • Use the cement path that goes from the blacktop to the sidewalk on Youngsdale Drive.
    • Use the walkway between the blacktop area and Arlington Park behind the school.
    • Get together with your neighbors and take turns supervising the children walking to and from school.
    • Have your child cross Morning Glory using the crossing guard and meet you at a designated place on Countryside Drive.
    • Consider organizing a “walking school bus” in your neighborhood, possibly with parents alternating supervision, as in carpooling. More information is available by contacting Solano Transportation Authority at (707) 399-3222 or

    Handle With Care

If your family is experiencing difficulties at home, we would like to provide additional support at school. We understand that you are not always able to share details and that’s okay. If your child is coming to school after a difficult night, morning, or weekend, please email their teacher “Handle with Care.” Nothing else will be said or asked. This will let us know that your child may need extra time, patience, or help during the day. Please also feel free to email this message to our student support specialists or administration at the following email addresses:

    Independent Study

If you know that your student will be missing school for a planned vacation, please sign up for Short Term Independent Study. You can sign up for independent study if your child will be out of school between 3-15 days, but you will need to sign up at least 5 school days before the absence will begin. Please contact our Foxboro office to sign up for Independent Study or if you have any questions.

    Lost and Found

Our lost and found is overflowing, so please don’t forget to look for missing items during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Many of the items in our lost and found are not labeled. Please be sure to label all of your student’s personal items (jackets, sweatshirts, lunchboxes, water bottles, etc.). All items not claimed by Winter Break will be donated.
