Welcome to first grade at Center Elementary. I love teaching young minds as they begin their academic journey. I work hard to know each of my students as individuals. I love to celebrate each child's strengths, and help them develop skills needed for success.

My first grade class is in love with poetry at this moment. Our writing program does a beautiful job making poetry come alive with movement and activity. Today we wrote a collective poem using words and ideas we had “brainstormed.”

angry at each other.
Boom! Splat!
Lightning strike!
Wind running to hide-
Swoosh! Swish! Swoosh!
The rain begins to cry-
Drip! Drop! Cold wet tears
falling from the sky.
