Foxboro Educator of the Year-Mrs. Jennie Barnett!

Ms. Andrews and Mrs. Barnett
Mrs. Barnett is a 6th grade teacher at Foxboro. She is committed to supporting the whole child and goes above and beyond each day to make learning engaging, rigorous, and fun for all of her students. As a result, our Foxes grow academically, socially and emotionally. We thank Mrs. Barnett for all of her positive contributions to our school family and choosing Foxboro to share her talents!
Some words from her colleagues –
- “Mrs. Barnett is always willing to step up and take on extra responsibilities for the kids. She runs student council and always volunteers to take on tasks as part of PBIS and the PoMo Team.”
- “Mrs. Barnett oversees the student council on campus and has taken on the Anchored 4 Life program. She works hard with our upper grade students to help them see their potential for leadership in our community. She’s taken on mentoring an intern teacher and always offers her space to others if they need to observe.”
- “Jennie is in charge of Foxboro’s Student Council. She encourages students to become leaders and help make their school a better place.”
- “Jennie works hard to run Foxboro’s Student Council. This year she added Anchored For Life mentoring programs after school for students throughout the school to attend with her Student Council students running the activities. She oversees these after school programs and also does many activities with Student Council throughout the year to help raise funds for different activities.”
“Jennie does a fabulous job running Foxboro’s Student Council. She is also on Foxboro’s POMO Leadership team. She helps make decisions to improve Foxboro and make it a better place for students and staff. I am grateful to have Jennie as my colleague!”
Foxboro is a Purple Star School!
We are proud to announce that Foxboro has been selected as a 2023 Purple Star School. Purple Star schools welcome military-connected children and have staff and systems in place to help with their frequent transitions between schools. For this designation, we had to demonstrate that transition programs, such as Anchored4Life, are in place, that staff are familiar with the needs of military-connected students, and that we provide educational and social-emotional supports. We are honored to serve the children whose families serve our country, and are proud to be part of the Purple Star program. For more information about the national Purple Star School Program, visit the Military Child Education Coalition’s page.
