Tiffany Benson is proud to lead the Travis Unified School District. A lifelong educator, she brings more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, high school principal, and district leader to her role. Tiffany is known for her collaborative leadership style, her commitment to educational empowerment, and her ability to bring communities together around a shared vision for student success.

Since joining Travis Unified, Tiffany has led initiatives that strengthen academic opportunities, modernize facilities, and expand support for students and families. She guided the implementation of innovative curriculum programs, the transition of 6th grade to middle school, and major safety and modernization projects funded through Measure R. Tiffany is particularly dedicated to serving military-connected families stationed at Travis Air Force Base, ensuring smooth transitions and strong support systems for students.

Tiffany earned her degrees from DePaul University in Chicago and the University of Wisconsin and began her educational career teaching both locally and internationally, experiences that shaped her belief in the power of diverse perspectives and global learning. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and continues to draw on her classroom roots in every leadership role she holds. Beyond her professional role, Tiffany is recognized for her commitment to transparency, open communication, and building trust with families, staff, and community partners. She believes that strong schools are built on strong relationships, and she works every day to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across the district.

Superintendent Goals & Objectives

The 2026-27 Superintendent Goals reflect the continued evolution of Travis Unified’s work and priorities. Over the past year, the District successfully launched and implemented several significant initiatives, including the transition of sixth grade to Golden West Middle School, expansion of student programs and supports, new safety measures, and the development of key instructional and operational systems. As these efforts move from implementation to long-term sustainability, this year’s goals place greater emphasis on strengthening systems, building staff capacity, deepening community trust, and ensuring responsible management of the District’s resources and long-term priorities. 

My goals are organized around four strategic areas: student success, organizational capacity, community partnerships, and resource management. Together, they are intended to support high-quality educational experiences for students, strengthen the District’s ability to meet current and future needs, build trust and confidence with our community, and responsibly manage district resources. They also reflect a broader commitment to enhancing the District’s reputation as a destination of choice for students, families, staff, and community partners by delivering exceptional programs, fostering meaningful relationships, and consistently demonstrating excellence in service.
