School Social Work Program
The School Social Work Program at Travis USD consists of Social Workers assigned to support each school site across the district.

School Social Workers provide schoolwide and classroom presentations, staff presentations, parent presentations, meet with students individually or in small groups, assist with the implementation of schoolwide and districtwide programs and initiatives such as; Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), First Step Next, Second Step, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Suicide Prevention, Human Trafficking and mental health initiatives. Our School Social Workers also work with community agencies and mental health providers such as A Better Way and the Marriage & Family Life Counselors (MFLC) to support our students.
Our School Social Work program also works closely with the California State University, Sacramento, School Social Work program to host BSW and MSW interns. TUSD also has a partnership with San Jose State University, Western New Mexico University, Walden University, and the University of Southern California to support interns.
