Course Description
This course will provide students with the fundamental understanding of the pre-production, production, and post-production processes of video production and filmmaking. Students will get hands-on instruction with DSLR cameras, HD cameras and non-linear editing software. Additionally student will about proper lighting techniques and sound editing.
Along with hands-on productions, students will survey the history of filmmaking and analyze the various styles of filmmaking and editing. Through their studies, students will be able to understand and apply the various concepts of camera shots and movement, composition, continuity in their collaborative individual and group assignments. Students will work both in class and on their own to complete assignments.
This course is an approved UC A-G course in the Visual & Performing Arts ("f") / Visual Arts, meaning this will fulfill your Visual and Performing Arts obligation for graduation by successfully passing the class.
