     Principal Mrs. Rushford

     Aloha, my name is Saundra Rushford and I am the principal of Center Elementary School for Travis Unified School District.  I have had the pleasure of being an educator for over 23 years, and during that time period I served as an elementary school teacher, TUSD mentor teacher, intervention specialist, and recently was the interim principal for Center Elementary School.  As a high achieving administrator some of the top priorities include setting high academic standards for all students, incorporating high level educational programs that support college and career readiness and fostering a culturally proficient school.   I am committed to serving the students, families, staff members and school district to provide quality instructional programs, while maintaining strict confidentiality and demonstrating impeccable integrity as we build a collaborative school vision that will infuse systemic change.

    Back2School Night August 22nd @ 6pm  Popsicles with PTA

    Please join us for
    Back2School Night & Popsicles with PTA
    Tuesday, Aug. 22nd @ 4:45pm
    in the Multipurpose Room.
    Center Staff is very excited to get the new school year started and we're anxiously awaiting meeting all the students and parents!!
    Mrs. Rushford will begin the night with a meeting explaining all the upcoming changes for the 2017/18 school year to which include new pick up and drop off procedures.
    What to expect?
    - Locate and Meet your child's teacher and see their classroom. (There will be 2 sessions for those with more than one child attending)
    - Meet and find out how to become a member of Center's Awesome PTA
    - Apply to be a Center Parent Volunteer (required of any parent/adult wanting to help out in their student's class)
    - Login to the new Parent Portal* and complete the Emergency Card and other disclosures in our computer labs located in both A & B wings.
    *Families will need to complete the registration in order to see the teacher their student has been assigned.  If you have misplaced this information, you will need to come in to the office to retreive your child's information.  We cannot give this information out without verifying your relation to the student.

    Bus Passes and Food Service Accounts can be paid for here!

    First Day of School will be Wednesday, August 23rd.  
    Reminder that this is a common planning day and school releases at 1:05pm.

     Please call ahead to make an appt.  
    Closed June 16th thru August 7th  Center School's office staff has returned.  Teaching staff will be returning shortly before our 1st day of school which is Wednesday, August 23rd.  
    Due to several meetings upon our return, we highly suggest you call ahead to make an appointment with our office staff as not to miss  you while we are out!

    Begin your online registration - HERE!

    Please bring the following Required Documents after online registration is complete to Center's office:

    1.     Birth certificate or other proof of child's age

    2.     Child's immunization (shot) records

    3.    Proof of Residence: two (2) separate documents with the parent/guardian’s name and address of residence. 

    • Acceptable proof of residence documents include: current utility bills within the last 30 days (PG&E, Garbage, Water or Cable
    • If you have recently moved into your home and do not have a utility bill, you may bring proof of purchase or a lease within the last 30 days.  (Please Note: You will be expected to bring two (2) utility bills as proof within 30 days)

    4.    Physical form for all students entering school for the first time.

    5.    For children in grades 1-12:

    • Provide a copy of your child's last report card or high school transcript.

    6.    A copy of current 504 or IEP, if applicable.

    Note: The above information was mailed to each parent/guardian on July 22, 2017 - Didn't receive your letter or misplaced it, please contact your school office.

    What you will need to be prepared to complete the Data Confirmation process: 

    • Primary contact information (changes only)
    • Emergency contact information (changes only)
    • Medical information (changes only)
    • Authorize and confirm online documents
