      How do I enroll my child in the Travis Unified School District?

    Part 1

    Step 1:  Create an account using Aeries Online Enrollment

    Step 2:  Check your email for a verification code

    Step 3:  Complete the Aeries Online Enrollment registration process

    Part 2

    Step 4:  Submit all required documents to your child’s school

     

    Required Documents

    After completing Aeries Online Enrollment, you will need to provide the following required documents to your child’s home school in order to complete the registration process

    1.     Birth certificate or other proof of child's age

    2.     Child's immunization (shot) records

    • SB277 requires that immunizations be completed prior to beginning/attending school for all students
    • Additional information about required immunizations for all new students, all 7th graders and any student who previously had a personal exemption (SB277) may be found on the Health Services page.

    3.    Proof of Residence: two (2) separate documents with the parent/guardian’s name and address of residence.

    • Acceptable proof of residence documents include: current utility bills within the last 30 days (PG&E, Garbage, Water or Cable)
    • Active Duty Military families living on base or recently moving on base will be allowed to provide two approved alternative proofs of residence, (Cable TV, DirectTV, renter's insurance, phone bill or current housing letter.)
    • Active Duty Military living in TLF can provide their current TLF receipt as proof of residence
    • If you have recently moved into your home and do not have a utility bill, you may bring proof of purchase or a lease within the last 30 days.  (Please Note: You will be expected to bring two (2) utility bills as proof within 30 days)

    4.    Physical form for Kindergarten students.

    •  The physical form may be picked up at the school office. 

    5.    For children in grades 1-12:

    • Provide a copy of your child's last report card or high school transcript.

    6.    A copy of current 504 or IEP, if applicable.

     

     Elementary School

    Age Requirements

    Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

    Children who will be five years on or before September 1st are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten.

    Children who will be five years old between September 2nd and December 2nd are eligible to enroll in Transitional Kindergarten and will attend Kindergarten the following year.

    Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program Location

    Locations for Transitional Kindergarten are dependent on enrollment and classroom availability and are subject to change each school year.  We encourage parents to enroll their Transitional Kindergarten eligible children in their home school as soon as possible.  Due to Transitional Kindergarten not being offered at each school site, parents will be notified of the program location once that that has determined.     Kindergarten through 6th grade

    Please use our school locator to find the elementary school your children in kindergarten through sixth grade will attend. 

    Special Attendance Agreements: For information about requesting to enroll your child in an elementary school other than your neighborhood school, please see the information below about Special Attendance Agreements under Intradistrict Open Enrollments.

     

    Golden West Middle School

    All students in grades 7 and 8 attend Golden West Middle School.

    Please use our school locator to verify your residence within the Travis Unified School District attendance boundaries. 

    Complete the Aeries Online Enrollment process above for the current year (coming soon) and next year.

    Schedule an appointment for your child to complete an English Language Arts and math placement test.

     

    Vanden High School

    All students in grades 9-12 attend Vanden High School.

    Alternative Education

    Travis Education Center (TEC) is an alternative education high school program for students who may benefit from a smaller school setting, wish to graduate early or who need to make up credits to graduate.  If your child is currently enrolled in an alternative education program, or if you feel an alternative education program would be best for your child, please contact TEC.  For more information about TEC, visit the TEC website.

    The Travis Community Day School (TCDS) is a school for students who need or require a more structured alternative to the comprehensive middle and high school experience.  Students are placed at TCDS through an administrative process or probation placement.  Contact the school's principal if you have questions.

    Special Attendance Agreements

    If you are requesting to have your child or dependent attend a Travis Unified School District school under a Special Attendance Agreement, please contact the Student Services Department for more information before completing the Aeries Online Enrollment process.

    Examples of Special Attendance Agreements are as follows:

    • If your family is currently living at the home of another family and you are not the primary residents of that household (Shared Residency Affidavit Form required, Contact Student Services for details)

     

    • If you become the guardian or caregiver of a minor child who is not residing with their legal guardian. (Caregiver From Required, Contact Student Services for details)

     

    • If your neighborhood school is within the Travis Unified School District and you are requesting to have your child attend a different elementary school within the TUSD district, you may submit an Intradistrict Open Enrollment request.

     

    • If your Neighborhood school is within the Travis Unified School District and you are requesting to have your child attend a school outside of the Travis Unified School District, you may submit an District Release Out.
