Yearbooks are almost sold out and remaining books are selling quickly. $90 with ASB and $95 without, cash or check. Starting on June 1st yearbooks will be $100 CASH ONLY!
Yearbooks will be distributed to seniors on Thursday, May 31st right after 6th and 7th periods in the B cafeteria. Juniors, sophomores and freshman can claim their books on Friday, June 1st right after 6th and 7th.
Come in on Wednesdays to S5 to learn more about your future in medicine. Join the Club and become an Officer for next year.
The Environmental Club is meeting this Wednesday at lunch and Friday after school in room M1. See you there. P.S. The Environmental Club would like to thank Maddie for the many diet Dr. Pepper cans she has contributed to our bottle recycling.
Hey Vikes: May is mental health awareness month and we invite all staff and students to wear lime green ribbons tomorrow, May 23rd to show support for this topic and then join us as lunch in the little theater to see the winning video entries from the Directing Change contest and from Solano County’s Kindness Campaign from Vanden’s own Asgard Studios students. Come and see the great video production work from: James Franklin, Horacio Mendoza, Malia Hurley, Kailey Mauldin, K’Asia Tubbs, Hadrey Vigilia, Runako McDonald, Jacob Adamczyk, Simonne Darbonne, Amaris Medina-Muro and Danica Faith Caasi.
Solano Community College is hosting a week long summer Cyber Camp for high school students. The camps feature five days of no-cost introductory and advanced cyber security training. To register, go to http://bit.ly/SolanoCyberCamp2018.
Vanden Viking Boosters monthly meeting for May has been rescheduled. It will take place on either Tuesday, May 29th or Thursday, May 31st at 6:30 pm in classroom E3 at Vanden. We will keep you informed once the date is final. We are asking all heads of booster-sponsored organizations and coaches, as well as parents to please attend this meeting. We will be discussing activities for the summer as well as FUN and VERY EASY fundraiser that we’re sure you’re going to like!
Are you planning on working during the summer in your current job? Be sure to get a summer work permit! Signups are in the counseling office now. Be sure to come in by June 1st to have it ready!
Attention Parents: Thursday, May 24th in the Little Theater from 6-7:30 pm, the California Highway Patrol in conjunction with Vanden’s Friday Night Live Club, is holding a SAFE DRIVING SEMINAR. If your child is driving NOW or will be soon, you don’t want to miss this event!
Reminder if you have not done so already: Students in grades 9-11: Be sure to return the yellow Pre-Registration form along with your proof of residence to the Counseling Office to ensure your registration for next school year.
Seniors: if you need an official final transcript sent to the college or university that you will be attending in the fall, be sure to create an account on www.parchment.com and request your transcript. You can also find a link to Parchment when you click on “Transcript Request” under the Quick Links section of the Vanden website. When placing your order for your final transcript, be sure to select the “hold for grades” option to ensure that your transcript will be sent out with your final semester grades.
Sober Grad has gotten word that many of you still want to purchase tickets, so we have extended the deadline to purchase tickets until May 25th, however we have secured our buses, so we do only have a limited number of spaces left. So, don’t delay, purchase your tickets today! Tickets can also be purchased via PayPal, be sure to put your student’s name in the notes section. We have planned a great night filled with lots of fun activities, a DJ, Photo Booth, food gifts and raffle prizes. Attention ALL STUDENT DRIVERS: The Fairfield Police Department is receiving many reports of reckless drivers around the campus and surrounding neighborhoods. Therefore, if you do not want to get a ticket, please SLOW DOWN and DRIVE SAFE for the safety of EVERYONE!!!
