Happy Monday Foxboro Families,
Every day is a great day to be a Fox! Last week, we celebrated the 100th day of the 2022-2023 school year. Students and staff dressed like they were one hundred and did hundred day activities in their classrooms.
During Jumpstart on Fox Family Friday, we recognized these Fabulous Foxes for going out of their way to demonstrate our school-wide expectations of Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Kindness. We also recognized our Foxboro Spelling Bee Participants and Winners who will be representing Foxboro at the City Spelling Bee.
Here’s what you need to know for the week ahead!

Our Foxes will have the opportunity to participate in acts of kindness through a Great Kindness Challenge Week Bingo activity. Bingo cards will be sent home with students on Friday, February 3rd. A copy is also attached to this update. Students can return their Bingo cards to their classroom teachers. All students who return a Bingo card will earn a Kindness Fox Tag and be entered in a drawing for several fun prizes from our Foxboro PTA! All Bingo cards are due Wednesday, February 22nd.

Animals on Campus
Travis USD regulations prohibit, among other animals, dogs being walked on school campuses. This includes walking dogs on campus when dropping off students, picking up students, or during Jumpstart PE. Please do not bring any breed or size of dog onto our school campus, especially when students are present. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy and remaining on the city sidewalks surrounding our school campus with your dogs or any other animal.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
As we enter the new year and wet weather season, we would like to take the opportunity to review school safety procedures around arrival and dismissal. In order to keep all of our Foxes safe, it is important that every member of our community practice respect, responsibility, safety, and kindness during these times.
Things to remember:
Thank you for prioritizing the safety of our school family each day when you drop off and pick up your children. The Vacaville Police Department prioritizes the safety of our families and will regularly be patrolling and ticketing the area before and after school.
Attendance
Please notify our school office if your student is missing school for any reason. You are welcome to email our attendance clerk, Mrs. Koyle at ckoyle@travisusd.org or give us a call during our office hours, which is 7:30-4:00 p.m. daily.
Birthday/Holiday Celebrations
As a reminder, please do not send birthday/holiday treats or food items to school. “Goodie bags” with non-food items are allowed. Also, balloons or flowers are not allowed in classrooms.
Bringing Lunch for Your Student
Parents, you are welcome to bring lunch for your student. We are asking parents to not bring lunch for other students. For the safety of our students and staff, Foxboro Elementary does not accept any deliveries, including deliveries of food (such as DoorDash), flowers, balloons, etc.

Classroom Observation Procedures for Parents/Guardians
Travis Unified School District welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with parents and guardians in order to meet the needs of our students. TUSD encourages interested parents and guardians to visit the schools and participate in the educational program. Procedures are established to ensure the safety of students and staff. (Board Policy 1250, Admin Regulation 6116). Please contact our front office at (707) 447-7883 with any questions.
Important information regarding observations and visits:
When on campus:
COVID-19 Test Kits
Prior to our Winter Break, students and staff will be provided with an at-home COVID-19 test. Please follow the instructions included with the test. These tests are optional and no one is required to take a test. If you choose to administer the at-home COVID-19 test and the result is positive, the protocol is to stay at home. Please refer to our District protocol if you have any questions. https://www.travisusd.org/site/default.aspx?PageID=6032
Daily Health Checks
We are depending on you to screen your children for symptoms of COVID-19 every day before sending them to school.โฏ People with these symptoms may possibly have COVID-19, andโฏmust stay home.โฏโฏIf symptoms start while your child is at school, we will call you to pick your child up right away.
Possible symptoms include:โฏ
โฏโฏ
We are depending on our whole school community to work together to keep the virus out of our schools.โฏ A morning health check is a critical piece of that effort.โฏPlease contact our school office if your child has been in contact with a COVID positive person (close contact situation). If your student has any known allergies, such as seasonal allergies,โฏor other health concerns such as asthma, please update this information in your parent portal or contact our Mrs. Staci Cope, our Health Specialist in the Front Office.
Handle With Care
If your family is experiencing difficulties at home, we would like to provide additional support at school. We understand that you are not always able to share details and that’s okay. If your child is coming to school after a difficult night, morning, or weekend, please email their teacher “Handle with Care.” Nothing else will be said or asked. This will let us know that your child may need extra time, patience, or help during the day. Please also feel free to email this message to our student support specialists or administration at the following email addresses:
Independent Study
If you know that your student will be missing school for a planned vacation, please sign up for Short Term Independent Study. You can sign up for independent study if your child will be out of school between 3-15 days, but you will need to sign up at least 5 school days before the absence will begin. Please contact our Foxboro office to sign up for Independent Study or if you have any questions.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is overflowing! Many of the items in our lost and found are not labeled. Please be sure to label all of your student’s personal items (jackets, sweatshirts, lunchboxes, water bottles, etc.).
